Bloemencorso Zundert - the Largest Parade of Flowers
During this wonderful parade, platforms with a variety of sculptures of flowers pass along the main street. Some sculptures of flowers reach a height of five-story building, and in widths up to five meters.
Flower festivals like this are quite popular in many countries, but nowhere in any other corner of the planet are they as grand as this one. And it is not strange, flowers are more than just plants in the country, and about 25 different flower festivals are held there every year.
Usually artists and florists known the topic for their sculptures and in 2015 the theme of the festival was the work of the artist Vincent van Gogh, who was born in Zundert 162 years ago.
The entire families were involved in the process: adults supervised the planting and growing, and the young took responsibility for the design, construction and compliance with all the features of sculptures.
Such large and curly shapes of sculptures are created not only with flowers, largely they are made up of paper mache, wire, cardboard, and on top of all it is covered by a thick layer of flowers of various colors.
